He the eldest son of Paramsant Satgurudev Shri Hans Ji Maharaj, was born on 21st September 1951 at Kankhal in the holy town of Hardwar. His father's life was one of selfless service to humanity and of tireless devotion to the ideal of awakening man's dormant spirituality.

Shri Maharaj Ji views dharam and science as two sides of the same coin. In fact, according to him spirituality is the ultimate science. Science can unlock the secrets of nature, it can study and analyze the tiniest components of the atom. It has decoded DNA and mapped out the patterns of life, but it cannot define Life itself. On the other hand, Religion, or spirituality, studies that inner living core called the spirit, or the life force, which is the animating and energizing spark of consciousness. For a perfect understanding of what life is and for unravelling its mysteries, we need both types of knowledge. They are interdependent. The latest scientific theories are in fact not too far from the truths stated by the religions of the east, such as Hinduism or Buddhism. It is like the lame man and the blind man who were friends - one had the eyes to see, but not the legs to walk, while the other had the legs to walk but not the eyes to see. Both needed each other. Similarly, science is blind without spirituality, and religion is lame without science. The marriage of the two can create a world spiritually contented and materially abundant. It is wrong to say that they are mutually exclusive. In fact, the latest scientific research is forging a closer relationship between the two. Science studies Nature, which is ultimately localized energy systems, and religion or spirituality studies energy in its most perfect form - pure consciousness. Just as energy can be neither created nor destroyed, so the spirit, which is pure energy, can neither be created nor destroyed.

Newton said that nothing can move without the power to move. We are also moving, so there must be some power in us that makes us move, and that power, which is consciousness, must be realized.

Science tells us that the human body contains billions of atoms. All these atoms invariably contain light, because when we split an atom, light emanates. Therefore, our real form is light and that is why all the scriptures say that God is Light. The only difference between solids and liquids is in their rates of vibration. In the solid state of matter particles are jammed together, while in the liquid state they move freely. So, it is vibrational frequency which causes the difference. If you understand vibration in its highest and purest frequency and tune yourself to it through the technique of spiritual insight, you will realize your own divine nature.

Everything in this world has vibration and wavelength. There is a tendency for smaller vibrations to move towards larger and higher vibrations. Therefore, because God is the highest and the cosmic vibration. everything in fact is moving consciously or unconsciously towards It.

Each atom contains is a nucleus, and electrons revolve around it. Similarly, in planetary systems there is a central sun acting as a nucleus, around which planets revolve like electrons. So, what is in the macrocosm is also in the microcosm. If we know the microcosm we know the macrocosm automatically. In a similar manner, life-breath is the nucleus or fulcrum around which the phenomena of life revolve.

Space is the vast vacuum which contains everything. It is known as 'Mahakasha' in spiritual terms. 'Akasha' is the atmosphere where gravity acts. In the case of Earth it extends 220 miles. Then there is 'Hridayakasha' , or inner space, which we experience when we close our eyes- the expansion of darkness within. However, God cannot be experienced in either the external or the internal 'akashas' as It is beyond the space within and the space without.

Even though we are discovering, inventing and analyzing different material phenomena, our spirit is still dormant inside us. We don't know it, so we have to find someone who is established in a higher plane of awareness. From him knowledge will flow automatically, in the same way as water flows from a higher level to a lower level.

No matter which religion he professes, whether Christian, Buddhist or whatever, a person who has this Knowledge and who is a sincere devotee will always act like a magnet. Just as a magnet always points north, he will always be aligned to the direction where God is, where the Knowledge is. His mind will always function in that direction.

The human body is made in such a way that it behaves like a magnet. At the bottom of the spinal chord, according to yoga, lies the muladhara chakra and at the top of the spinal chord is the sahasrara chakra, the lotus of a thousand petals. These two points of the body behave like the north and south poles of a magnet.

If you take a magnet and suspend it in the air, it will always point north-south. Even if you turn it, after a while it will reverse and point to north and south. The human being by nature points towards God. That is its aim. But materialism deflects us. Then, after some time, man thinks about God once again, because the answer, the destination of this journey of life is God.
